Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

How do I book my dogs stay?
Booking your pups getaway is as simple as reaching out via phone call or text (616)358-0030, email dogsofdorr@gmail.com, or messenger (https://www.facebook.com/dogsofdorr). Our goal is to make this a simple, seamless process.

Do you require vaccinations?
We do require some vaccinations, as it is required by Allegan County. The following vaccines are required, with confirmation from your vet:
-DPP (Distemper, Parovirus, and Parainfluenza) - 1 or 3 year
-Rabies - 1 or 3 year
-Bordetella - Required every 12 months
Guests must also be flea and tick free. If there are signs of fleas or ticks at check in, unfortunately your dog will not be able to stay.
Is there an age requirement for my dog to stay?
We require that dogs be at least 9 months of age to visit. We know this can be limiting for some, but there's a reason; younger dogs are more prone to an unfavorable assotication with boarding that can last a long time. We want to make sure that dogs are well developed and suited for a wonderful boarding experience!
What is needed prior to my dogs stay?
Three items are needed prior to your dog's visit.
1. Information Form: On the forms page, you will find the "information form". This is a simple questionnaire intended to give us some insight into your dog, which helps us make your dog feel the most at home! There is also some generic information like emergency contact and vet information.
2. Service Agreement: Also on the forms page, you will find our service agreement. This is standard legal jargon that highlights what's expected of us when caring for your dog. This document can be signed at the bottom of the page.
3. Vaccination Records: Lastly, we will need vaccination records from your veterinarian. We require Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper. There is a button to upload these files under the forms tab. If for some reason this button does not work, the forms can also be sent directly to dogsofdorr@gmail.com.
Something came up, can I cancel?
Stuff happens. We get it. As long as you cancel within 7 days of your dog's scheduled visit, you will receive a full refund. If inside of 7 days, you will still be charged the cost of visit, but we will provide you a 40% off coupon for a future stay of the same length.

My dog is not spayed/neutered, is that ok?
No problem! We won't hold it against you, or your dog, If your dog is still in-tact, the only difference with their stay will be that play time will be a solo venture. We want your dog to have fun, but not that much fun.
If I'm honest, my dog is kind of a di#k... can they still come visit?
We all have our moments, some just last a little longer than others. If your furry friend is lacking the "friend" side of that title, just let us know, and we will accommodate. Caleb has experience working with dogs trained to be intentionally off-putting, so handling them will be a comfortable experience. These guys and girls will fly solo during play time.
Is every breed welcome?
Every breed is welcome at Dogs of Dorr. It's 2026 for goodness sake.
Can I bring my dog's toys?
Yes! Our primary goal is for your dog to be comfortable and worry free during their stay. Please bring whatever toys will help make your pup feel at home.
Can I bring my dog's bed and blanket?
Yes! If your dog has a bed and/or blanket that brings them comfort than it is certainly welcome here. Each cabin is outfitted with a 2ft by 3ft aluminum and vinyl orthopedic, chew-proof bed. Extra-large cots are available for our more sizable guests. If your dog has a moment and starts chewing their own prized possessions, we will set them aside to avoid any accidents.
My dog requires daily medications. Will you administer medicine during their stay?
Yes. We administer most medications at no extra cost. When completing the required "information form", please be sure to specify medications as well as their administration schedule. If you have additional questions or concerns, never hesitate to call, text, or email!
Do I need to bring my dog's food?
Yes. Please bring enough food for your dog's stay. Pre-packaged servings or a small container with a serving size measuring device is ideal. Also include your pet's name as well as their eating schedule, and we will accommodate. We do understand that leaving for vacation can be stressful, and sometimes we forget things. If this happens, no worries. We will supply Diamond Naturals All Breeds at the small charge of 1$ per cup.
Will my dog get treats during their stay?
Snacks and vacation are like America and the prideful caw of a bald eagle as it brushes the treetops of an upper peninsula waterfall. They're just made for each other. We offer milk bone hard and soft treats to keep it simple and familiar. You will have the opportunity to dispense these treats from your dog's cabin camera. As always, we are here to accommodate, so if you don't desire treats for your dog, or would like to bring some of your own, please feel free!
How do I use the cameras?
We use the PetCube cameras in each of our cabins. To access the app, search and download "PetCube" in your app store - or - follow this link: https://petcube.com/mobile-app/. Once you have the app, you will need to make an account and share your username. Once we have this, we can invite you to view your dog's cabin cameras. There is one camera on the interior and one on the exterior porch. The interior camera allows you to throw the dog treats, simply swipe up on the dog bone icon to do this. Camera access is set to 7:00am - 10:00pm.
What time is check-in and check-out?
We run our cabins similar to a hotel. This keeps the schedule moving and consistent. Our check-in is 1:00pm or after. Check-out is before 11:00am We know this is not always possible, and we will always work with you when we can. We also offer a late check-out for an additional 20$. This extends that time to 8:00pm. Please note that late check-out is only available if the cabin is not already booked that evening.
